With almost 50 travel bloggers (and associated travel networks and companies) the #travelbloggerstats app has gained quite a bite of attention and its only been live for one week.
When viewing the stats remember a decrease in Alexa ranking is a good thing! I really should get the coloured font logic switched around for this!
Alexa Up and UP!
Fellow Adelaide travel blogger, Bitten By The Travel Bug had a killer week with a massive gain in her Alexa Ranking. It was most likely due to her recent selection as a Red Bull Mobile Scout. She also had a huge number of tweets this week (229) boosting her entire count by almost 4%
You should take a look at Nicole’s Bug-ket List – it’s absolutely massive! (Nicole – cant believe you havent driven the great ocean road yet!)
Her huge increase in her Alexa ranking goes to show a strong correlation in tweeting and website traffic!
150,000 more Youtube Upload views? Yes Thankyou!
Indie accommodation service AirBnB had a massive week of more than 150,000 upload views, probably not a surprise when they keep pumping out the expensive, dramatic promotion videos.
I dont think the usual 20 something backpacker is really in their target market, just watch one of their straight marketing videos. Seriously guys, make a funny marketing video. So boring.
The Irish Polyglot’s a Youtube Sensation!
On the pure digital nomad front, everyone’s favourite Irish Polyglot appears to be finding his scene on Youtube (video marketing works hint hint). He had an amazing 10,000 upload views on Youtube this week!
It looks as though he gained 10% of these from one of his new videos about a whole bunch of Irish people dancing. What the hell mate? I bet not 1 of 1200 people watched that video till the end….
That’s it for this week. If you want to be added on the travel blog directory and stats – just send me an email or a tweet and ill throw you on straight away.

Im a 20 something Australian that fell into a rabbit hole. Im not entirely sure when, or exactly how it happened - what I do know is that I need to explore this rabbit hole.
I’m really stoked on airbnb because i’m looking to travel at a slower pace on my next adventure it seems like the perfect place to find apartment rentals…sigh, so good to feel like you have a “home”
From my research AirBnb are the biggest of it’s kind, but they do have a bit of a ‘corporate’ feel about them. Another big one is Roomorama
>> http://roomorama.com/
It depends on where you go, there might be a large expat community with a massive forum specifically looking for people to rent apartments. This is the case with Hanoi

I think the accommodation answers are out there, it just might be a bit of a gamble when you book online from 20,000 kilometres away!
Thanks for sharing Bitten By the Travel Bug. Now I have a new blog to read!
No worries Annette! I am a little bit bias, Nicole and I are from the same Australian City.
Also, Ive added you to my Travel blogger stats app (under the travel blogger filter)
